Bison Ravi

Tobias Klein’s group Full Fathom Five presents BISON RAVI. It is inspired by the works of the French writer and musician Boris Vian(1920-1959). Full Fathom Five pays homage to this provocative poet with a repertoire that combines elements of contemporary jazz, psychedelic folk and experimental rock music. Rather than going back to the 40’s and 50’s, Full Fathom Five aims to translate Vian’s spirit and his esthetic, his humor, lyricism, brutality and cross-grainedness into a contemporary sound. Herman te Loo wrote in Jazzflits (dec 2007): “… a strong new quintet on the cutting edge of improvised music, rock, modern chamber music and electronica.” Armand Serpenti wrote in Trouw, 15/12/2007: “… they made a cd with lots of drama, many dark colours, with well balanced, totally integrated electronic effects and no drops in suspense.”
