NL-RUHR Music Kitchen gooit Nederlandse, Duitse en internationale jazzklanken in een grote kookpot.
Aan weerszijden van de grens neemt men een kijkje in de keuken waar Nederlanders en Duitsers gezamenlijk achter het fornuis staan, en proeft de lekkernijen die dampend heet worden opgediend.
NL-RUHR Music Kitchen is een concertreeks waarin jazzensembles uit Nederland en uit het Ruhrgebied elkaar ontmoeten. De musici componeren en arrangeren voor elkaar en bereiden een gezamenlijk repertoire voor dat vervolgens in Nederland en in het Ruhrgebied wordt uitgevoerd. In de periode van 19 november t/m 21 december 2010 vinden er 11 concerten in 9 steden plaats. Er zullen spannende nieuwe combinaties en wereldpremières te horen zijn in deze ontmoeting tussen het postindustriële Ruhrgebiedgeluid en de eclectische Nederlandse smeltkroes-groove.

The musicians of this trio, with their improvisations on Swiss folk songs, celebrate musical freedom in all its glory.
MARC BRENKEN - CHRISTIAN KAPPE QUARTETT: (Christian kappe: trumpet/ Marc Brenken: piano / Alex Morsey: bass/ Marcus Rieck: drums). Christian Kappe and Marc Brenken team up woth two great musicians for their new quartet: bass plaey Alex Morsey and drummer Marcus Rieck.

A unique project: six musicians from six different countries meet for the first time. With the repertoire they have created, they tour Europe. This year's line-up includes some of Europe's most exciting young players, among them pianist Oliver Maas from Essen.

NL-RUHR Music Kitchen takes place as part of Rughr 2010, the capital of culture programme of jazzwerkruhr ( No blah-blah), and the NL-RUHR Programme. NL-RUHR is the platform for Dutch cultural activities in the Ruhr region during the European Cultural Capital RUHR-2010. The Music Centre Netherlands (MCN) supports and promotes Dutch music. Within the NL-RUHR platform, the MCN is responsible for the music and dance program.
